This is exactly what Red needs. 9th is a great mix of old type soul shyt but being modern at the same time. Everything I've heard from Red in the last few years has been either low budget cats trying to sound new and being no good at it or an obvious attempt at trying to capture that old sound but not being good enough at it. He has some good-great tracks sprinkled throughout but he needs a real producer like 9th behind the boards.

Man these are type of beats Redman needs. He's still as good now as he's ever been, but Red is such a nice guy he tries to put on as much local production talent as possible but as a result it brings the quality of a lot of his stuff down.

That has to be the new wave.....artists and producers not in the same cliques, regions, or sub-genres of hip hop working together.....shiit is refreshing...

Can already hear Redman doing his barking adlibs in between verses.....

That 3rd beat so regal and raw and soulful . 9th Wonder is a maniac on the machine.
