@TheDarceKnight Can you shed some light on who Amp is? I see on the CD that he created the artwork and obviously he is producer. What's the word?
For sure man. So 9th Wonder has a collective of producers called The Soul Council. It's 9th, Khrysis, Eric G, AMP, Fatin, E. Jones, Kash, and they just added Nottz who obviously has been around forever.

But AMP originally was the third member of a group signed to 9th's label called Actual Proof. It was 2 rappers (Sundown and Enigma) and then AMP. But Soul Council started doing the production and AMP still produced for them but not exclusively. He mostly just has produced for Jamla so far (9th's label) but it looks like he's starting to get some more work outside of that.

He's known for DJ Premier being his big inspiration. I've seen some people say he straight up jacks/bites Premier's style. Premier has cosigned him, and I like a lot of his stuff. He definitely makes the hardest/grittiest joints in Soul Council. Nottz may have him beat now that he's there, but AMP is good. Lots of scratch hooks like Premier too. He has a beat tape called AMP on The Beat Like. I'll post some beats he's done, footage of him making beats, and a video on Soul Council (from 2010 before Eric G and Nottz were added)

I'm a 9th Stan

used to be a Kweli Stan but now I hate him, I know a lot of people had high hopes for dude and this nikka blew it. the last album which I legitimately liked was Eardrum, and even at THAT point he hadn't released anything real ill since the first RE album(Quality was just meh to me)

are the beats on this jawn good enough for me to overlook Kweli?
are the guest spots dope enough for me to ignore kweli and go ahead and cop it?

I'm Hard Like D-Block Readin The Book Of Enoch...
this album twas super dope, surpassed my expectations by far..

this is thine personal favorite collection of 9th beats,he's grown a lot as a producer, wonder how much his Soul Council team has to do with this surge..

Kweli's pen game for this album twas exceptional, guess i shouldn't be so surprised cause that fukk The Money free mixtape had some good joints, but this twas Blackstar/Train Of Thought/Kwelity good, which is saying a lot, most of the guest spots were flames too,Talib got a good A&R ear,Rapsody,Niko Is,Tef Poe,Chris Rob,MK Asante, and that Jessica Care Moore broad dropped a jaw dropper:whew:,Problem&Bad Lucc aren't bad either..

prolly gonna end up in my personal top 10

He's said before that them all making beats (often in the same studio) and all being in NC (minus Nottz) has made him step his game up and be more competitive.

"Every Ghetto" stayed on rotation on my way to work this morning. Haven't even gotten to the rest yet.
