A $20k emergency fund is especially valuable in these times.

:dahell: you might need therapy breh. More than 1 year is pretty much looked down upon in most financial circles
i dont care about any financial circles - this is my life. one year of rent (back when i rented) and one year of mortgage) is a must for peace of mind.

56% of Americans can’t cover a $1,000 emergency expense with savings

Seeing shyt like this is wild because I have a very large chunk as an emergency expense.....but I'm a broke boy according to sm. Money stressed me out until I had at least a years salary in savings. And I make under 70k. My little cousin got a 70k job straight out of college, yet she broke. She got a 15 year had start on me but she asking me for money:wtf:
And we can't blame student loans because they'll been kicking my ass since the Great Recession but my heads afloat.

How yall living out here.

We don’t save anymore because of credit.
It’s really has destroyed the mindset of most people
Credit is a large advantage if used correctly. Matter of fact, Credit > Debit > Cash depending on what card you have.

At least with credit, you get something back (rewards) for spending your money.

It's the worst, because people always find a way to make it a habit...:francis:
And then they offer to throw me an extra $50 if I let them borrow $50. I always decline and tell them to save it instead and start an emergency fund :snoop:

most people can’t handle credit cards. Those rewards are just us benefiting from other peoples terrible spending habits lol

Oh, and 20K is a ludicrous amount for a lion's share of Americans. Most of us are floating around the poverty line, which is what? 37K? Them kats would be happy with $2,000...and that shyt would probably be gone in a month.

I'm shooting for $100K while I'm in the military, then dropping that shyt to $50K as a civilian.

$20k :russ:

It would be astounding if people even have $1k stashed away.

Americans are broke as fukk and struggling to a point where it’s not even worth mentioning on a regular basis. And without credit it would be an even crazier disaster. Next year is going to be like a zoo with no workers keeping order.
