A $300,000 Salary Feels Like $100,000 in The Priciest US Cities. $125K in Houston is the same as $300K in New York

MAN! At the end of the days people gonna live where they wanna live…

Plus It’s a lot you got to factor in…For one supply and demand…

How many of these mid-small cities/towns infrastructure gonna be able to handle a mass migration…not to mention the frustration from the locals…

If you're single with no kids, avoid high COL unless you just wanna be around more fine azz females (what's the point of $$$$ if you can't flash it for baddies?). Live in a cheaper place and then travel + save + invest the extra cash.

NY, NJ, MA etc., have much higher taxes but also better schools and social services. Texas has excellent school districts mixed in with straight garbage. Easy if you're a local to know where to go but this can be a challenge for transplants. Even within the same district you can have elite schools and schools that are basically prison pipeline intake centers.

We need highspeed rail. All sorts of cheap land and houses 40min outside all the major metros. A good rail line could do the trip in 10min

There is no reason for anyone to fight for land in the city.

People want to walk down the street from a trendy bar or club and not explore shyt. Many humans are lazy, entitled, judgmental, and selfish :manny:

This is why I always say you’d be a damn fool to live in NY or CA or any other states that are expensive as fukk to live in (or specific cities within states). If you have the skills to make $300k in one of those places, why the fukk wouldn’t you move around to somewhere cheaper to where you can live a much more extravagant life? Even if you take a pay cut of $50-100k you’re still winning…
the best jobs are concentrated in just a handful a cities.

This,
People are fkn everything up all the way. Between property taxes and inflated home valuations, to food and drinks at the bar everything has gone way up from even 3 years ago.
