but just because they let you go doesnt mean you're free, theyll still investigate and if there was a credible witness that says they saw you then theyll charge you but before they charge you theyll try to trick you by bringing you in for questioning to try and get you to give up a confession, one of the classic ways is they act like theyre tryna help you and say " if it was self defense you have to let me go because that changes everything, right now you're being charged with murder but self defense gives me something to work with"
