A 7/10 game rating IS a mid game

6.5 and below = pass

7 to 8 = probably good, but it depends on the genre.

8.5+ = you'll likely enjoy it no matter what

AC Shadows and Starfield are two examples of games in that 7-ish, low 8 range. Some people will love it, some will hate (about 25% in each camp) and then about 50% of gamers will think it's "ok" but has some noticeable flaws.

A lot of games fall in that range....hence all the Stan Wars.

Honestly the whole scoring system is fukked for gaming ( and getting fukked for movies too) specially big ones or big franchises, if the next Naughty Dog or Zelda game gets an 86 or some shyt everyone will lose their shyt, gaming sites will go down, some people will kill themselves, its crazy.

We used to get several 7/10 games from big publishers and everyone understood, yeah this isn't gonna be Mario World but still gonna enjoy it.

A 7/10 can mean a couple of things.

The game is good with some big flaws.

Or

The game will hit harder with fans of the genre than the general public.
