A 7/10 game rating IS a mid game

Inaccurate or not, I view the term “mid” as slang for “mediocre”, not middle.

C grades (7/10s) are considered mediocre grades. 5/10s aren’t considered mediocre, those are flat out Fs.

So yea, I use the academic grading scale for game, movie, and television reviews.

Yup. 7 is aight, 6 is average, if slightly below average. Respectable. Anything below 6 is varying degrees of bad, but it takes some SERIOUSLY bad shyt to go below a 5.

The definition of mid is dead center. 7/10 is above average. Arguing anything else is stupid. There are games with high ratings I simply don't enjoy, Skyrim being one example, as well as every GTA that followed San Andreas. If I gave them a 7/10, that means better than most, probably worth checking out on a discount, will be an excellent game for some and meh for others due to it's quirks.

I agree. A 5 or lower is absolute trash. A 6 might be niche enough to find a cult audience. 7 is probably mid with the potential to be good.

Opinions are subjective..not every game rated highly is considered great by EVERYONE. Some games rated on an average scale are goat games for some.. same with music.

There is a thing as overrated games. And believe it or not some of my favorite especially in the jrpg genre are rated between 7 and 8 rarely above 8.5

Ratings give u an idea but sometimes you just gotta play it yourself,just don't buy it a full price if u don't feel the game Worththy of u

No objective conclusions can be made from metacritic scores. Too many inconsistent variables and outcomes.

Also a games sales/success is not tied to metric scores. Lots of 7s do just fine commercially while lots of 8 and above still struggle financially.

Some do, most don’t and there lies the problem with metacritic. All reviewers aren’t even using the same scale and each game isn’t even getting the same reviewers….then metacritic uses some unpublished “weight” system and assigns a score

Typically 7 games lean into whatever niche gimmick or thing it's trying to achieve which either you hate or enjoy.

Naw, the biggest difference isn’t “classic or trash” its “do i want to pay 70 or wait for sale/sub” to play this. There’s so many big games releasing every month that most people don’t even have time to dabble in mediocre shyt anymore

More of us have more money than time to play everyhting now. No reason to play a consensus 7 at this point, unless its a niche of game you really fukk with like the new yoshi game coming out
