I've gotten to the point where as long as my favorite rappers aren't abusing women or children i really don't care what they do or say outside the booth. These are normal people that are capable of saying dumb stuff just like everyone else.

Fukk his comments...you think he's a hoe even with the shyt I said believe what you want.
It's just funny that we're here arguing about A$AP Rocky being a street nikka when he himself admits he CAN'T relate to the shyt nikkas is struggling with in the streets.

If he was really in the streets like that.... he can't say anything about things happening to black folks in America that he's probably experienced first hand? :what: He'd rather talk about his lean, clothes, and white bytches? :ohhh:

Oh, but he can publicly speak against homophobia in Hip Hop? :russ:

He shoulda just said that he shouldn't speak on these things cuz he's not good for it or whatever, all that other shyt he said made him look extra bad.

The thing is we not looking for rappers to be garveyites or 5%ers when it comes to speaking on social issues.

What it does is it exposes them as not really street dudes becuase it's a fukkin law that hip-hop is a culture grounded in the streets. And this topic is thoroughly discussed in the streets. By dealers and fiends and barbers and small business owners, activist, etc.

Therefore, anyone who doesn't care about racism in America can't claim to be a street nikka and can't be a representation of the hiphop culture.

When rappers say something y'all mad.
When rappers don't say something y'all mad.
What do y'all want?
Coli/IC nikkas just want to be mad just to be mad im serious :mjlol:

Same nikkas that r mad at this would be the same nikkas mad at ASAP had he said that he is about that concious life. And if were to say something that they would not have liked.

Then they would be saying "These rappers need to :camby: no one cares for their c00n ass opinion"

Rapper A$AP Rocky Sounds Off On 'The Gay Thing' In Hip Hop

“So now that I’m here and I’ve got a microphone in my hand and about 6,000 people watching me, I need to tell them how I feel,” he said. “For instance, one big issue in hip hop is the gay thing. It’s 2013, and it’s a shame that, to this day, that topic still gets people all excited. It’s crazy. And it makes me upset that this topic even matters when it comes to hip hop, because it makes it seem like everybody in hip hop is small-minded or stupid — and that’s not the case.”

fakkit

I guess asap sees himself as a gay man before hes a black man

More rappers need to shut they dumb ass up when it comes to issues if they have no idea what they talkin bout. I'm personally glad he has this stance. It prevents these nikkas from coming out sounding like Kevin Gates lame ass. If u not bout that life. I don't give a fukk about ur opinion. Cause it more than likely would be detrimental anyway.

I met Rocky a few times (shot on his tour) and hes really about that rock star life.

We expect rappers and ball players to fight our battles because those are the only nikkas in the public eye with money but you gotta realize we gotta fight for social change on our own.

I feel he has the right to think and do as he pleases but I don't
think his ideas are indicative of all rappers and I personally do feel there
are rappers that can intelligently add to the discourse happening around
"Police Brutality" or "Systemic Racism".

Yea. And I feel that the ones who can intelligently add to the conversation are by all means welcome. But we don't need dumb asses who not privy to speaking on these types of subjects spewing nonsense in the public eye either.
