True. The starter was brought up by the defense so last minute the prosecution was not aware of it until right before the trial how I read things.
I don't know if he got rid of it or if it's needed now. I think Rocky's defense is Relli's character and the gunshot wound assuming it was a gunshot wound.
Then, the starter might turn up. I think Twelvyy was a witness, so he will most likely take the stand. That look like the bones of Rocky's defense.

If he is convicted he probably will only get 2-5 yrs ...24 is the max
