South Africa’s economy is controlled by white people and white people run the country behind the curtains. White Boers are the reason that European countries invest in South Africa.

Heavy sanctions and international blacklisting would ensue if white people en masse were excommunicated or a culture of violence was perpetrated against them.

The root of the problem was Nelson Mandela aiding Boer supremacy by excusing pro-white violence and letting the whites off easy after apartheid in 94. His ex wife and pro-black revolutionary, Winnie, wanted a situation where wealth was redistributed to the black majority and trials would be held for high ranking officials who created the apartheid environment.

Mind you, I respect Madiba for his service and sacrifice to South Africa but his ideology allowed the white supremacists off the hook. Mama Madikizela (Winnie) had more direct and just means of dealing with the racists of apartheid and the Boers.

Boers are fukking filth.

It boggles my mind they are even allowed to exist in that country.

Not really. The whites will hold power in the nation with a vice grip and would probably impede Mzansi’s political and economic progression if power were stripped from them.
The whites are a relatively large minority and would likely cause a host of issues once black people tried to run their nation on their own terms.

I hope South Africa can find true liberation and a culture of true equity but rn de-fanging the white power structure isn’t actively in the minds of most black South Africans. They’re not there yet. Many people are struggling to just survive

Yeah. They’re numerically insignificant but hold loads of wealth and ties to the West and Israel. It would be hard to totally disengage them from the status they have. It can definitely be done but must done strategically.

It is one of the reasons I'm not visiting SA for sometime. I don't want to get angry, and I have no filter when I see certain things.

It's funny though that the only country cacs feel the most comfortable travelling to from the west is SA, and we all know why...

This tripped changed me brehs.. planning my next two trips and only interested in other countries on the continent

What bothered me about the experience was learning about the conflicts in South Africa between some black South Africans and immigrants from other African nations.

Also, the fact that Africans are “the help” anywhere that’s affluent. You can feel the class system is still intact from apartheid and the wealth disparity is obvious. I hated that

That element of conflict seems to be based on misguided anger. People who haven't accomplished much resent seeing outsiders come in and thrive. Always the same story.
Angry at their government for not expanding opportunities in the economy for them, and direct that frustration at innocent people who are trying to make a living.

It spilled over into bloodshed and murders over the years, as well as threads here discussing the attacks in detail.

Yeah, South Africa is not yet 30 years into post colonial history. Lot of this is the natural growing pains of an independent country, heightened by the existence of so many of the colonizers still in the country.
Other countries had to deal with Euros still owning the businesses and resources, but from afar.

It hurt me that the "Pain and Reconciliation" hearings were the full extent of the recourse that South Africans got after apartheid. I get it now, I feel that those people needed justice and those Boer MFers needed to die.
