wow great dialogue so far. :ohhh:

imma go with a biz with an all black employment base. it would promote black unity. the more jobs and revenue we pump into our neighborhoods the more WEALTH is generated and obtained by blacks. IN America WEALTH is POWER :beli:

my favorite rapper NIP hu$$LE is the perfect example of this. He has multiple shops in the neighborhood that he grew up in and this pumps money back into our NEIGHBORHOODS rather than foreigners selling us goods and then spending money outside of your hoods. :francis:

this is just what the JEWS, arabs, Italians, ect.) have been doing for years, but BLACKS dont do this because we want the fame and glory. fukk the fame chase the ability to FEED no only yourself but to PUT on other people as well :blessed:

i WANT the black business owner. Go ahead and get THEIR money. and bring it back home to the black community(recycle those dollars). a black business owner hits on more things he/she needs to hit on to earn more of my respect. a black business if nothing else is a light at the end of the tunnel for youngings growing up not seeing to many black folks own much. so every time you see that rare one. it gives you a sense of "maybe i can do it too." the more times you see it, the more chance of you doing the same thing. There's a reason white folks do better in this country then blacks do. even beyond the cism. its because they grow up seeing their parents be managers, ceo's, etc so they themselves see its possible. where as a young hood black kid see's his mom or pops working a dead end job AT BEST.
This is very true.

That's because people who have never lived at the poverty level or know someone struggling don't understand how poverty really operates. Its really a depressing and hard way to live. Trust me homie, its not that they don't know its tough, its that they can't IDENTIFY with your struggle because it goes over their head.

What's funny is that 95% of all Americans with a job are one step away from clicking buttons at a fast food restaurant and don't even think about it. I know I would go back to washing dishes in a heartbeat if I had no other access to any other job. So anyone that is happy to get any job, I applaud them everyday because this is a very unfair, tough world, especially for Blacks.
Yea....people clowned on me for working at Pinkberry serving yogurt...but I did it cause I had to do something to make some money and I was happy to at least have a Job..especially in this market. My dad told me it didn't matter as long as money was on the table.

Now I got a better job...so I guess all that hard work and years of unemployment/underemployment paid off.

Black employees. It doesn't matter who's the buyers as long as we're the sellers. Infact, making non-blacks our consumers is probably imperative.

There's no shortage of black consumers and companies that market to them. There's a shortage of black manufacturers.

For businesses the bottom line is money....catering to one demographic is one thing and its an admirable vision..i do believe there should be more black businesses and hiring of more black employees...however if there are opportunities to branch out to other demographics and get their money..why wouldn't you...limiting your customer base does not make a business thrive

I was gonna suggest why not both to the OP because not only would you employ other Blacks but that money would get recycled into the Black community which is exactly what we need. Both are great for Black people.

Yep. Not just the money tho, like @rapbeats said its about a MENTALITY also. The "i can do it too" mindset. Thats what we need in our community mainly :positive role models & examples. Our youth needs more examples of ourselves than rappers, ball players, and criminals. Honestly, most imagesof ourselves fall under 1 of those 3. Our youth needs a bigger "circumference of awareness". The reason kids grow up thinking that they cant do certain things is because they're unaware of the possibility. They never see doctors, lawyers, dentists, business owners, etc with skin the same color of their own. We definantly need that MENTALITY of hiring our own to plant that seed of "i can do it too" in our youth

I wouldn't mind a business that is Black owned with non-black staff as long as the chief decision makers at every level are black people. At the end of the day, Black leadership and ownership is important to get those dollars pumping into the community. And when the business is successful, that only makes way for hiring more black people. Keep in mind that there are many products out there with black faces that are not black owned but are heavily marketed and sold in the black community ( Hennessy comes to mind). The NBA itself is majority black but the ownership is white. At the end of the day jobs is what we need, but we also need ownership and leadership as well.
