Terrible trade imo, pick only has a top 8 protection . Stan lost that trade unless dmo can turn it around huge gamble

It's not a huge gamble, they are going to see if he can still play and make a decision on him this summer, if he can't they go for Ryan Anderson. They have coveted Donatas for a minute, and the draft is weak as fukk this year so if they lose the pick considering they already have their core players set.

They're banking on making the playoffs this year though, and this draft is very weak on positions they'd need.

Normally I'd be against drafting first rounders, but their core players are -

Stanley 19
Drummond / KCP both 22
Tobias 23
Jackson 25
Morris 26


They already struggle with finding minutes for Stanley as it is, and if the pick is 9-12 it's most likely going to be a big, who wouldn't get minutes over Drum.
