People can be self centered in their critiques. I see the same thing when people talk about going for personality instead of looks. The only problem is that concept today is most peoples personalities are horrible regardless of how they look. I've seen unattractive people treat people horribly.

Yeah, you can easily flip this and apply that line of thinking the other way: Sometimes a woman's views/what she considers a "good woman" doesn't necessarily meet men's standards or what a man perceives as a 'good woman'.



Nonetheless, there's kernels of truth that the OP was dropping. I respect it and it's clear-cut. The word 'good' is a relative term- so naturally it's subjective in the context of how one applies the word to one's relationship standards and judging the opposite sex. So yeah, just because a man or a female views themselves as a "catch" or good man/woman... that doesn't mean the opposite sex will perceive them as such.

The key is that everyone regardless of gender, has to find someone who appreciates them and perceives them as a good catch and stop being bitter about/to those who don't - or work on improving yourself so you're able to meet their standards as well, if you actually care that much about their perception of you.
