hey joe,....

yeah,....I said it, and it is real as hell.

datz wtf i'm talembout = @@@@@ / *****

or in other words,....a cot damn classic!

dat tre eight and that yoppa!

well, what can I say,...
a hopeful makes the hopeful classic, we thought he could hopefully make.
this is what happens, when you actually have technical skill.
combined with styles, rhymes and verbal sickness, on that other level few only get to..

[to take another swipe at cashmoney,...these must have been the records corey hid from weezy, or saved for himself, on some selfish shyt..if the later is the case, like I think, or speculate in this wild brainwave of mine...
I am glad,...]

as finally corey comes with the spontaneous actualized energy.
featured in the classic get'em girls video and tempers that type of fervor for an entire record.
every song and in every style with every technical advancements from the x's and o's.
to be given the nod over the other impressionist, voice overs, copycats, biters and the like.
who are doing their best twentieth anniversary of thuggish ruggish bone.
that the industry is some way or another trying to get over with us as some type of gimmick.
anyway,..we finally get an artist that has all the components.
to challenge all the rapid fire delivery, melody to slow flow over slowed't and throwed't bpm's, pre-req's for what we would say is a really dope rare once in a lifetime type of second gen rap talent.
I have always written gunz favorable to astounding reviews.
which always talked about his inability to make songs.
yet, bounce off of the mainstream technical standard equivalent and give out that better.
meaning when you do hear a flow that is the so-called mainstream flow for this sonic landscape.
you would get corey do a great rendition with no actual mic presence or full direction to get across his convincability. like the one famed get him girls vid.
most of note, many will try to cite as the first place they originally saw gunz as a gateway interest.
I followed a bit before and a bit after to this release.
especially when I really did not take to a few releases in the middle.
like I originally did the first two mixtape appearances of gunz when he was with tommy.
as in tommy mattola,...or however in the fukk you spell that rich Mariah carey simp'n motherfukker's name.

anyway,...a few jayz deals here and a cashmoney ymcmb signage there, and here we are.

DATZ WHAT THE fukk I'M TALEMBOUT

FIVE STAR CLASSIC

mqdefault.jpg

one. INTRO

intro :
this vid opens with the important cosmo/bronz tale convo about more of the same.
like most gunz mixtapes,..that typically start with an iconic movie based intro excerpt.
except this content is still as poignant as any time it was sampled in previous records.
seguewaying into corey launching into one of the best organic displays of mic presence emcee'n on record in this gen.
where he channels that feeling of a great off the top guy coming with bar after bar of sickness with that impeccable spontaneous mic presence and timing.
you doubt whether it was a freestyle or written,..except in this case.
you stop giving a fukk about whether it was written and just admire the damage the kid does.
nuffin but get ready to be continually astounded and amazed use of technical prowess.
from what I guess, will probably be the most technically intune and savy emcee of this gen, age wise.
where cory expands on the grassroots organic off the head type energy like build records, in this gen are expected to do vocally artist to artist.
which also, leads into track number two.
where you get a smart placement of the title song,...

2. DATZWTFi'mTALEMBOUT

rating : five
where it launches into a millie chaos horrorcore phantom of the opera double time type instrumental.
where corey goes completely wild, like the a millie record..
except this time calls on some hardcore..
in a classic bx slash call and response crowd rocker, that gives shades of all the double time he snapped moments from overdose, busta's double time speed trial clinical hof moments of double time clarity, all mixed with the young poise of ll's football movie soundtrack doubletime classic, that featured al pacino.
great fukkin record, and the execution to keep the organic feel and mic presence.
that translates from the technical skill and pengame skills,.....
all coincide and help produce a completely flawless call and response double time record.
that say bx/ny all over it all day...
great record...datzwtfi'mtalembout...

3. KAN'T SEE ME
featuring busta rhymes

rating : five

speaking of hof double time speed trial clinical hof moments of double time clarity.
busta drops through and gives another hof double time speed trial crystal clear clarity moments.
after cory comes on and sets it, and in what most rappers don't do now..
comes back on with a dj scratch and absolutely murders the third verse, with enough style switches that harken on the days of packinamac era pun, and Eminem met on the recording session of superman.
on top of dropping in again,..with another organic freestyle energy mic presence pocket work on this break!
cory and busta murder this record!!

4. Ballin Out On These bytches
feat chalie rock

rating : 2.75
the only issue with this record is. it swoops in with the same swag a past ymcmb/rick ross/wannabe luger record would have popped off on at the very top.
then,..corey comes in and saves the track after an awful bridge combo.
that is basically a karaoke down south rendition of 8ball.
brings pimp c back from the dead!
while, letting boosie out of the bing based vocal inflection with the frustrated pimp swag tint.

I rated this one a two point seven five because corey has to save this record and makes up for his half of the bargain.
it was just this record was ruined by an unnecessary down south tribute style bridge,..
when i'm putting my nikkaz on,...
should have just been the hook.
yet, the bridge is comedy.
so, If you are into a record, with a dru down meets panky moment,...this should suit you just fine.

5. Feelat
featuring mack maine

this record is so well executed from a double time pocketed standpoint, from the very first bar corey jumps on.
it is hard to disturb his energy to carry this overly dope sparce beat to where it should be taken.
corey even inspires a standard weak rapper x's and o's better performance of his career performance out of mack maine.
that has a struggle one syllable flow on a double time record.
yet, mack maine scaling his usual offkey stock two syllable every guy punchline rhyme technical skill.
which is probably the same type of verse we have come to expect from ymcmb.
so, radio listeners should be perfectly fine hearing a next level written record of the double time variety.
great album track, but could still be a street single radio banger just because vibe..
just high marks, all around..as the organic ability of gunz to create records, is on full display.
the best thing about this release is it feels like you are with him when he came up with this in the studio.
it has that type of quality with the actual technical skills and advancement.
to be the perfect sweetspot for any rap listener who wants to listen to one of the best technical marvels of this gen.
yet, not feel like they were listening to an amateur with stiff mic presence, or a lack of feel record to record.
gunz supplies the energy and pockets the flows with the accurate vocal tone for him as an artist.
most wordsmiths usually never are able to get to skill wise as an actual vocal performer.
here, you can hear gunz show nikkaz, the sets of skills they are missing in their skillsets.

GO SLOW

rating : five star plus
now, in honor of doing double time ghetto whistle hof style smooth records like adren. rush's, feels so good....
you get this magnum opus...
on top of mixing the best of the past bass drum sonic palette from birdman's opus been getting money...
pretty much the record,..your touch screen will get worn down rewinding...
don't speedball and go slow to this classic record....

I TRY
ft sean hayz

made in the same type of vein as a dope reflective track from the days of dead homies to twista and faith evans, meets big l's street struck.
with the ending conclusion being content based rhymes better than the miscues and high points to Eminem's reflective work on his last work, from recovery
when, you working with a mixture that good with technical skills and content.
you get a second gen rapper, who can lay down the father/son relationship on wax.
by simply bringing it to light without much detail and it still works.
when, typically this type of record from a second gen rapper, is six am on a sunday mtv video levels of wack add.

high marks for this type of record.
when typically this type of record, from a second gen rapper.
plus, the setup usually leads to disaster for a rapper of this gen.
corey easily lines them up and murders this....
a good nbc channel five background app publishing day record if worked right.

BARAKA
rating : five star street banger

one of the better new wave examples of the old adage of less equals more.
as corey simply annihilates a slow flow pocket, with elongated syllable rhyme and style work.
not to many emcees can actually get on this record and execute gunz's new found and unparalleled ability in the industry.
to recreate the freestyle or written grassroots properties, that are always attached to he killed't it rap performances.
gunz does this effortlessly every break of this record and for this album.
this is what happens when you apply real technical application with skilled execution.

great work, pocketing syllables with sparce elongated and advanced wordplay and delivery...
a lesson in emcee'n in appealing to this gen, in this mainstream capacity as an audience.

that tre eight and that yoppa.......
cot damn,...he killed't it!!!!

I'm Laughin

the one reason I liked this record was...
it was like a mixture of ayo technology and amafia's king of ny harlem boyz choir record, production wise.
except,...corey comes in and smashes the flow with the proper technical application and content rhyme wise..
it will not bother you one bit...when, for the millioneth time...
a rapper tries the dah hahahahaha laugh track record..
except this time,...it actually works and wiz khalifa mails in his standard good for this gen flow.
currency style based smoke and rideout work, that fits the grassroots chemistry corey brings...

a good high quality mainstream feature record,.....that could easily be heard in any club, with any type of motif, from fist pump to urban dump.

Do Sumfin

real talk,...
I wish the coli would have hipped me to this instead of Baraka.
as this record I missed when it originally dropped, and I was pissed I did.
as this record is fuego and the video picks up on where weezy left off.
the last time he was in a video in the hood with a bed mattress made of young moolah.
except this time,..no cubed out million dollar mattresses made of money..
just real shots of some rowdy nikkaz,..one of which has ripped a stop sign out the ground...

with that said.....do sumfin, nikka....

just a classic expo of rocking a sparce syllable laden pocket and break.
while organically building a record, with that he killed't it, he spazzed't/he japped't it based energy, cory employs.
where he builds on the same sparce sonic landscapes with some of the best in the pocket slow convo flow over double time threats of this gen...

this is how you build a street single based album..you have all the singles create the same tone and direction.
that also,..illustrates the feel of the project.
of which gunz expertly does on this release,..as do sumfin set the stage and the rest of the album holds its bargain direction wise.
when it comes to sonic presentation to the full gamut emcee wise...
just an expert mix on this project to show synergy between all the regional based styles.
similar to the same work g rap did on, live and let die.
when he worked in the westcoast context, expertly past their level.
on top of creating top eastcoast style records that are nuffin short of hof perfect classic level.

with that said,..the single output for this album is crazy, and do sumfin,..is the perfect lead off single to showcase and create the feel for what this album is, wholeheartedly.

MY OWN DEAL
ft. hash

hash does a good deal to handle the lex luger wang inspired bassline on this.
as he actually holds his own, lyrically.
as he picks it up with his bungalow rhyme....
then, actually ramps up mid track and kills with some nice advanced syllable combos.

as hash handles the hook and bridges and the first two verses...
enough wangage here, to not give it a negative look on the record.
yet, since it isn't gunz's exclusively or as a feature.
I will not take off any points,..as at least the record had enough wang.
that I did not dismiss it,..like a Memphis bleek appearance on a jayz record.

TOTAL
ft juicy the trippy one j

gunz is just spontaneously expertly good in the pocket on the break of this record...
it is noticeable immediately....
simply x's and o's execution during what I am sure was a juicy j volume studio run.
you really can not give this a piss poor rating.
especially when listening to a juicy j feature record.
as juicy j, has recorded so many records in volume.
it is pretty much hit or miss,..if you hire him for a feature.
so,..here, I did not expect any of his legendary hit single freaky girl sckripper anthem of the year type records.
just a good fight record,..with wang....

DEMONS

rating : five stars

what is funny about this record is,.....
it has that tape tracklisting type feel.
where it is setup to take you on a high and level off, so you can flip it over....
then wash and repeat when it comes to taking you to a high apex wise.
on top of having that feeling record wise which is a good thing..
plus, a throwback to ny's golden era of lore when it came to album program track listing..
including the bonus,...of cory actually channeling, the one thing.....
the neptunes wish they could find a rapper who could do what gunz does on this record.
gunz pretty much captures the classic flair and energy of jayz's d'evils.
morphing it into a sing song nas style hook driven record like on az's give me yours.
that exists as its own entity, and the only connection to jay's d'evils is the track is called demons...
just a classic record all around, that not even a feature from an unknown chalie rock could upset....

SOS

rating : five

what can I say about this record.
except for this is what a throwback break beat next level this gen produced classic sounds like.
this is straight outta the horrorcore rapid fire playbook.
where you get a trippy rapid fire ode to an off-kilter urban legend.
where you get gunz channeling the same psycho killer levels of lore of pun on leatherface.
on the son of sam ode of lore, sos...

pretty much a dope enough track that could come on after any showbiz filtered horn beat big l rocked over.
with enough worldly flair that dre goes back to his eastcoast sample roots like on doc's no one can do it better lead culture roots chant inspired lyrics.
or be blended after tical's stir crazy,..and not to many records can ever go after that classic, on some bugged out shyt...
nikkaz, talk about ny not having their sound.
well,...if more records came out like this in ny.
ny would not have an identity crisis.
this is what ny rap sounds like,..........
