Uninformed people say that. It's more based on income than anything. Look at poverty and you'll see a trend regardless of race. Not saying you're wrong because you aren't, people do say that but not within the proper context. That is an old racist talking point. We know many factors that contribute to single parent households especially in our community and it's usually due to people like the lady in the OP. Those same percentages hold true in other households as well.
