I am proud of folks standing up and being proud, but there is a hard line between those will ride and die for the cause, and those who only do it for show. I am pessimistic, I don't think white folks will ever give up their privilege; that shyt has to be fought for. Word and respect to the Haitians
I been living long enough to realize that life is fleeting. I want to change shyt and it starts from within. I don't think we will ever achieve what folks call equality, because equality is always being redefined by whiteness. Whiteness is always being redefined. In 20 years, South Asians will have white privilege. They already have a disproportionate number of politicians.... thats another thread. We will never be free until we exist in a society where our voice truly matters. If I am going to march and protest, I need to be prepared to die. Anything less and I am just wasting time. But even if you are not at that point, you still need to respect those that are. I aint heard shyt from DeRay McKesson in a while since he lost that election. TaNaheisi Coates is our leading black thought writer. He is producing works, but how can we find a way so he can have his own graduate program where young minds go and learn under him? And if scholars don't want to vibe with him, then we should have other programs set up so that they can eat too.
I have always said that this website, black twitter, and other various social media platforms where black folks post are at the vanguard of black culture. We are spreading black media like the black porters sold the Chicago Defender.
I draw my line in the sand, and say that I defend blackness in all of its manifestations. I will not defend folks whose platform is not black-centric. I will make it politically, and I promise I will change shyt. And of all the people I know that post on here, I know y'all will too. Y'all my woes, thecoli helped me get thru a lot of hard spots in life, I honestly don't know where I would be mentally without y'all to vibe with. Lord knows you can't really trust too many folks in real life without them fukking you over.
