Credit cards (with rewards) are a life cheat code if you use them like a debit card, meaning you only swipe if you have the cash/funds in your bank account to pay it off right then and there.
Never carry a balance, always pay it off at the end of the month, and you'll get cash back/gifts and raise your credit so you can get the best rates when it comes time to get a mortgage, refinance, or get a car loan.
Just have to have some discipline and treat it the same way you use your debit card. Don't buy shyt that you couldn't buy with your debit card.
I opened a new card in March just for the $200 signup bonus. I used the card just for groceries that I as already going to buy, paid it off right then and there, and then put the card away. Free $200![]()
