XXL and Source are shells of their former selves. Shame how two prominent hip-hop magazines couldn't adjust with the times to the digital era which is why they're so trash/irrelevant IMO.

XXL been a joke for over a decade now. that chit makes steve stoute look like shaka zulu.

the source fell off when benzino & dave mayes got kicked out. whats funny is theyre running "hip-hop weekly" now, which is the only rap mag with any type of relevance these days.

New school rap is so terrible right now that I'd probably change the issue theme from the new class to how many freshman rappers need to just drop out of rap. I'd put a big 'FLUNKED' on the cover.

Troy Ave makes dope music, IMO. Really dope NYC cat. Jon Connor is from Flint, Mich., just signed to Aftermath. Very, very strong/prolific mixtape presence, but a good songwriter and pure spitter. Jarren Benton was the artist that people voted in with the 10spot contest XXL had on the site.
