Man don't give me that "you never know what the future holds" shyt. Matter of fact, you tell me what you think the Jets will do next season. Assume they'll have the offseason you think they'll have. What are they gonna do next year with that roster, QB, and schedule? I'm not about to have delusions of grandeur with this team. I'm not. They don't deserve the benefit of the doubt from us as fans, not with the shyt that has gone on.

:whoa:

You just can't think two years ahead in the nfl, it's just not allowed. You never know who steps up, gets worse, get injured, etc. We have a lot of holes that no rookie qb can fix if we was to draft one next year. Most of our defense can be replaced if you really think about it. We have no talent on offense either.

Only I'm not suggesting they draft a QB this year, but rather draft an offense to surround him when he arrives.

by drafting it this year.

and the Jets will have money next year and the year after. It's only this year that the cap is oppressive.

I'm hoping they draft more for offensive side, but we see how the season plays out first. You gotta think Rex will coach like a mad man since this could be his last year.

When word broke last week that the San Francisco 49ers had agreed to trade backup quarterback Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs, the NFL community was abuzz with gossipy cynicism.

Not only was Smith the latest and most significant domino to fall in a decidedly unsexy quarterback market, but the price he commanded from the Chiefs — the second pick in the second round of April's NFL draft, and a conditional 2014 pick that reportedly could be as high as another second-rounder — blew the minds of many coaches and executives around the league.

"I'd say it was somewhere between steep and outright theft," one AFC general manager said in response to the trade, echoing the sentiments of many of his peers. "I would have had a hard time giving up two 2s. He was a free agent last year, and it's not like people were pounding down his door to sign him."
Even though Reid and the team's front office is different from last year, the Chiefs could of got Smith outright last offseason w/o having to give up two high picks

Romeo Crennel thought Alex Smith the QB was Alex Smith the TE and that that we were the Stanford 49ers and none of our players were available to us playing in the Pac-10 though

Thats the thing evne this year they might have eventually released him if they ddint get any decent offers..

Who were the Chiefs bidding against? maybe the Cardinals?

At the very least are you telling me if the Chiefs told the niners listen will give you the first pick of the 3rd or 4th round the niners would have gotten more somewhere else? i doubt it

Andy probably Panicked because he was so sick of the idea of Caseel being his qb he just wanted Smith no questions asked
