Simply saying "black people make a bond movie" isn't that easy
Very few directors of any colour period can make a Bond movie out of pocket or get the funding for it
Romcoms might be boring but they don't have million dollar cars and tanks and shyt exploding costing mad $$$

Its very possible. This is where unity comes into play.

Spectre (last bond movie) cost 300 million to make:

Production expense doesn't include marketing, which by itself could be up to 1/3 of the production budget

You are right that it isn't impossible if it was mission critical for black hollywood to get it done but it is definitely not feasible for people below a Spike Lee/Tyler Perry level and might be very hard even for them from a financing standpoint to get it made

I said make an action movie, not a bond movie. Nate Parker did the Nat Turner movie for only 10 mil. Bourne Identity was 60 mil and the budget for the OG bad boys was 23 mil.

The black people with the means to fund a 20 million dollar project don't want to do it.

Sounds like hard work that could take a decade. Might as well do it. :manny:

Exactly

Bourne trilogy >>> Bond IMO.

Americans saw the Brits killing it with the Bond franchise and they went and did their own to compete with it. If black people want their own Bond, then make their own, period.

I never understood the fascination with Shaft but then again despite being in my late 30s I only know the Samuel L. Jackson version of Shaft. Remember I didnt grow up in the U.S. so thats part of it and i believe Shaft was only big here.
Ask most people who grew up elsewhere about Shaft and you'll get the :dahell: look, guaranteed.

James Bond, however has international success all over the world

Honestly don't see the point of genderbending an already established character, however if they make up another character as a spy from the same agency, like a 006 or 008, that would be a really cool way to expand the franchise and a fun movie idea for Gillian imo. I love her as an actress so I'd be down.

They think everything has to immediately be "big budget" :mjlol:.

You start small, establish a foundation and then go big.

Can easily make a good film for $10M - $20M (I've watched plenty) but watch those with the inferiority complex compare them to White Hollywood's big budget blockbuster movies whilst also hyping up their lower budgeted movies at the same time :scust:

I was just fukking around and showing that there is a precedent for this lane by us. But if people want that acceptance from an international audience so bad then I guess keep pushing for a role within franchises or create one.

There's enough money in black Hollywood to make a black action movie. The reason it hasn't been made is because black people don't wanna put the money up to make it.

Nate Parker did the Nat Turner movie for only 10 mil.

That's why I respect Tyler Perry. He built his own shyt and didnt ask the white man for anything.
no such thing

and these nikkas still haven't got their finance and distribution game in order

The producers of James Bond dont owe it to black people to give them a black Bond. Let's make our own James bonds and K.I.M. Stop making bullsh!t Madea films and stupid pimp films and films about rappers and street thugs.

Spike Lee is one of the few black directors who's work i respect and even hes overrated to some degree. Wish we had more options

We had our own Black Bond though:
