You are correct about players making it to the NFL from bad small schools. However, Jerry Rice is a bad example the team he was on wasn't that bad and his SR year they went 9-2.Savannah State football was involved in a scandal some years back and last year the team went 1-10!!!! And the season before that guess what their record was...? 1-10, And the season before that 2-8 you get the picture. Last time somebody from Savannah State made it to the NFL was 12 years ago!!!!
Like I said Savannah State is the Worst school in the FCS!!!! And has been for quite sometime. Plenty of really good FCS schools to play for in that area why choose the worst if you're really that good???

with any sport lots of players go to bad schools to start immediately
sure it doesnt help to be on a crappy team but if you are your just there to shine for yourself you might as well show your self especially if your a juco transfer
no matter how bad the team is scouts are always looking for that one player who can make it and with the way scouting is today your better off playing then rotting on the bench

Another, valid point. However I am arguing the point if he was as good as the OP's co-worker said he was, he could have atleast played at a better FCS in the southeast area; Georgia Southern, Samford, Wofford, Furman, Bethune-Cookman, Florida A&M, and Alabama State just to name a few.

So he comes back and.. I try to play it off and say his son was one of the only ones out the team that looked like they belong on the field..

- his son was heated with his teammates because they were scared to play
- his son was screaming at teammates to give effort
- his son was mad the coach took the starters out after 2 quarters against OK State
- told the coaches he didn't come to that school to be apart of the rachetness
The he says that the coaches at Alabama called and said they were interested in bringing him to their team.. he would have to redshirt a year. I was like
on the inside but gave props in the convo. I told him.. he need to tell his son to bounce. Go to Florida A&M.. anywhere but that school.
