Talk about things you don't know about brehs :mjlol:

You really think Texas just gave him $252 million dollars because he was just a good player? :mjlol:

I think the Mets were offering $240 million as well and he was about 24-25 at that time. That is unheard of.

You're one stupid bytch. To even fathom that ANY new comer will EASILY beat the home run record is stupid as shyt.

I must have struck a cord with this casual follower, you are simply not qualified to talk about this. A-Rod has made the most money since 2000 for a reason. He was basically looked at as a lock to hit that many homers if he did not get injured. The Yankees, Rangers, Mets, and several other teams were willing to give him an absurd amount of guaranteed money + crazy incentives because they knew we would all be at this place right now. It's the price to have your team represented in the history books to have had the guy who hit the most homers all time...that's what is at stake here. The Yankees knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they got him in 2004.

Do you REALLY think the Yankees would have forked over $275 MILLION PLUS INCENTIVES for just some good player after the Rangers deal? Or a player that was seemingly a lock to break the record? Just think about this objectively for a second, I just threw out over half a billion dollars in guaranteed money for contracts...clearly the idea has been in the heads of baseball teams for the past 15+ years.
