There was a time when the Eagles were strong against the run

That was Schwartz's defensive philosophy. Sell out to stop the run, leave his corners on islands. That's why the Eagles always had a strong run defense during his time, but was susceptible to getting beaten for big plays.

Gannon's philosophy is different. He's about stopping big plays, and doesn't mind if you give up a little in the run game. But it's clearly not working this game. Then again, we don't have the LBs to really deal with Zeke and Pollard, so...
