The only NBA team that really has brand cache that travels is the Lakers...and I say that as a diehard Mavs fan.

Boston, NY Knicks, Pistons, Spurs, Heat etc., all big in their regions but the Lakers seem like the only team with universal appeal on par with the Cowboys/Packers/Steelers/Yankees/Dodgers etc where they got a ton of fans in every city. Knicks ain't really on that level and never have been.

That said, even though I don’t like the Knicks, it would dope to see Tinman Towns (can’t even call him that anymore) win a ring, considering everything he’s been through. And he’s finally playing like a grown ass man, I’d be all for that.
