Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I still can't believe no other sports game has a coach mode like this.... Where you only get offers to coach shytty teams cause you're new. then as you get better, you get better offers... as you get better, you're coaching stats and prestige go up and more people want to play for you. also your facilities get better as you bring in more money

most games now is, pick whoever you want... and get whoever you want as long as you throw the most at them.. i liked the grind

Can someone refresh my memory.... In NCAA 06, could you start your coaching career at an FCS school and work your way to larger schools? Been seriously thinking about coming an old PS2 console just for ncaa 06

Yeah, that's possible. When you start your dynasty and select your team, you have to press select and go to a menu where you replace a FBS school.

If you're talking about playing in the actual FCS though against FCS schools, that's not in the game.

Yeah, that's what I was wanting to do, play an actual FCS schedule. Oh well

The closest you could replicate that would be replacing an independent program and scheduling all FCS games since independents don't have locked conference games.

See, THIS is why this damn game is the GOAT, got cats reminiscing on it like the shyt was LIVE ACTION...:heh:

Me and my boy still talk about some of the CPU generated players as if they were real

*having real life convo*

"yea man...Baker Mayfield is definitely winning the Heisman..." :smugbiden:

"we both know he had nothing on Grant Reid though, the greatest QB of all time and the pride of Rice University" :myman:

"Nah son, you know Andrew Brown is the greatest. I got 4000 yds passing and 3000 yds rushing to prove that"

Few months back went and copped a PS3 from a Pawn shop for $60 and took my nephew's NCAA 14. Created a RB for road to glory mode and balled out at ULM (2x Walker award, Hesiman, broke a few school records)

It was fun, definitely replayable, but the game is 5 yrs old. AI is lacking, there were some bugs, and of course the "storylines" were predictable

EA Sports NCAA March Madness 2001 was the first game I think that had a coach mode that did just the exact same things you described except for the facilities part. The coach mode was called Coach K mode and I started with from the bottom with Prairie View A&M. It took me 3 years to win the NCAA title with Prairie View A&M (an HBCU on top of the world). I went from Prairie View A&M, to Washington St, to Northwestern, and I finished at Kansas. The EA Sports 2001 College Football didn't have a coach mode but they did have their own playoff system. The top 24 teams made the playoffs with the top 8 getting a 1st round bye. The bowl games were used as playoff sites for each individual game. EA Sports was so forward thinking when it came to the playoff system for NCAA for FBS schools. I had bought those games for my PS1. By the way 2001 was the last year EA Sports made games for the PS1.

This was one of my all-time favorite sports games. I played this game so gotdamn much they I atleast went through 20 seasons of dynasty mode.
I had turned Illinois from a medicore Big 10 program to a NCAA Blue blood powerhouse winning so many National titles :wow:

The '09 team was GOAT.....I was the QB, had friends and cousins on the squad just kicking everybody ass:wow:

I always prefered College football games over the NFL games...way more exciting, better playbooks, etc. fukk Ed Obannon for life:mjcry:
