I will tell you this: anyone advocating their children playing football needs to be ridiculed. I honestly don't care about football. And the truth is if we (nation) focus our attentioj on things besides sports, maybe this country will put its resources behind nonsports activities.

Not sure what's idiotic about the truth.
Academic scholarships aren't as prevalent as athletic scholarships. The number of people who attend school full ride academically palls in comparison to those who attend based on athletic prowess. Furthermore, higher education has crossed the threshold of capitalism. There's no going back. Schools are making far too much money to allow everyone or a sizable portion of students free tuition. My statement stands, football whether you like it or not, provides opportunity for a lot of young brothas that otherwise wouldn't have said opportunity.

Plus there's always tournaments you can enter to make money.

But spending X amount of dollars on an all season pass to watch dudes play a game your to last to play yourself is the cool thing to do.

I like sports, I like video games, but unless I'm putting MY hands on something, it's really not that important, either way.
