:mjlol: you talking about inflammatory titles and shyt when you haven't written anything yourself.

anyway your opinion doesn't matter to me, b. you can or agree or not :yeshrug:

William Rhoden himself stated that he chose that title because it's controversial/inflammatory and would garner immediate interest...

Are there any types of businesses where the employees make more than the owners?

so you think the owners of these franchises deserve to make more than the players?
why aren't there many black owners throughout professional sports, yet they make up a good portion of the players?
would you say that black ownership/ management is disproportionate?

I'm a sports guy and will watch just about any sport outside of cricket, but sports do not have any redeeming cultural value. Other than national competition, sports are really just for entertainment and you can see this evidenced in the salaries athletes are getting paid these days. It's more about business now than anything. I don't have an allegiance to any particular team either other than Chelsea.

They're not any more or less lame than the dudes who make fun of other dudes and call them gay for not watching sports. I don't have enough reasons to care about sports anymore and would rather be doing other stuff or watching other stuff so I can understand why people look down it. Some men know more about their favorite football team than they know about their own kids.

Why am I seeing this ridiculous comparison of athletes to slaves in here? :mjlol:

Where is the slavery in getting paid millions of dollars to play a recreational activity? Where have you heard of slaves signing contracts and negotiating their own terms?

This site be on straight bullshyt more often than not

Owners don't "deserve" to make more, but they are usually high net worth individuals with billions of dollars worth of funds backing them. The teams they buy are an investment, so in a sense they do "deserve" to see returns on their investment based on the performance of the team.

As for why there aren't many black owners in American sports? The preponderance of the wealth is in the hands of a minority of 1% of the population who more than not are white. You cannot bankroll a team without hundreds of millions of dollars backing you. What some of these wealthy blacks could do is pool their resources together and purchase a team as a consortium, however there really isn't that sense of collectivism in the community. A few black athletes are minority stakeholders in teams however.

Freshman Year
I went to college on a basketball scholarship and now in my 30's i don't watch any sports at all outside of the NBA playoffs and NCAA tournament.

I literally watch no sports 10 months out of the year it's pointless.

Exactly. Playing and coaching basketball made me want to watch sports even less.

I appreciate maxing out human potential and individual performance because it's inspirational to me and some of the kids I work with; however, sitting around for hours watching two "teams" go at it... :camby:

Time could be spend making yourself great at something.

I coached High School basketball for 5 years and that's what made me quit watching sports also.

I remember hearing some white guys talk about sports at the bar

One of them was talking about how black people are such great athletes and how white people don't belong in the NBA

"You goofy fukk what are you doing on thw court go work at a fukking bank or something "

I'm hearing that shyt like :dahell:

That comment put all this sports obsession in perspective for me

Who brings the real value to the organization? and where did they get that wealth in the first place? wouldn't happen to be from hundreds of years of slavery/ free labor would it?

No, blacks are deliberately being denied access to capital and ownership which is common in every industry in this country. I hear nothing but excuses and deflection from the real issue which is systematic racism. I guess you think that pro-sports is somehow the only space where blacks are being treated fairly. please stop being delusional :heh:

edit i just realized your name is sport scribe. :francis: r u black? do you get paid from sports?
