The Colorado gunman bought his weapons and thousands of bullets legaly and he already had documented mental health issues. There has to be some law put in place to at least confirm the persons mental health, maybe even give a mental health screening before gun purchases. And also I can't see a reason ANYBODY would need to order thousands of bullets. That alone should have raised a red flag with somebody.

You're right. We can do a much better job than we have been doing. Definitely needs stricter regulation, but will stricter regulations really be strict enough for the blackmarket prices to become absurd? I mean, think about the things we could reasonably pass, it would probably be a few minor better regulations, no major change seems to be possible in America, just minute "moderate" change that democrats and republicans had to settle for.

lets not forget Japanese culture is much different than ours. They're a very submissive government is always right type people and their society EXTREMELY shuns disobeying authority (whether it be police, parents etc)

That country has a lot of problems in of itself. Also, its probably extremely hard for a foreigner to go to japan and find some chronic but I bet its relatively easy if you've lived there your entire life, if its anything we've learned from prohibition its that making a substance illegal doesn't decrease the consumption or access to it. Also as a foreigner getting in trouble in a foreign country is much more intimidating and scary and thus even approaching people to buy weed would be scary as hell.

we can talk all day about what kind of society they have, but the fact is that the penalties for having weed there are pretty harsh

I didnt mean at the gun store. They could make it so you had to go to the doctor and get a screening and pass for the gun liscence. At least there should be something put in place that would prevent people who already have a confirmed mental illness from buying a gun.

They need to make certain medical conditions public to the government and make sure people with xyz conditions are not able to own guns but then you know whats gonna happen. Mr. Rogers is gonna unload on a schoolbus and they're gonna think no one can be trusted.
