No they weren't. They hadn't won a Super Bowl but they definitely weren't a joke.

Yes they were. They had gone 7-9, 9-7 and 8-8 in the three seasons before he came.

They couldn't protect their quarterback, they couldn't apply pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Their running game was pathetic, and outside of Shannon Sharpe, they had no weapons on offense.

The Broncos had all kinds of problems and did NOT seem in any way like a promising team that would even contend for superbowls (much less win two) in next couple of years.

Shanahan did not inherit a team that seemed to be going anywhere.

That just means they were mediocre. The Redskins right now are a joke.

Ok. Regardless of the word you choose to characterize them, they were far from good, and they were an aging team without much promising young talent, and they seemed to be headed on their way down.

NOBODY thought the Broncos would become contenders

That "paint I-270 red" part in the Hogs Haven article. Even though i agree with a lot of it, I cant stand Redskins fans that arent from the beltway. :camby:

He should have been fired alone for bringing in Haynesworth. :pacspit::pacspit:
he didnt bring in Haynesworth.

But he did re-negotiate Haynesworth and DHall's contracts which lead to the cap penalty.

That could go either way, people probably still respected them as an organization. They went to Super Bowl inlike 3 times in the late 80's and I think they might have even won they division in the early 90's once. They was dead those years you talking about but I'm sure they still were respected

those pre-Shanahan teams were not clowns tho. They were still decent squads.

Shanahan has somehow made us a bigger joke than Jim Zorn did. Think about that. :damn:

It has been amusing all season to see/hear a second year QB coming off a major injury take the brunt of criticism - including people questioning whether he should lose his job - while a recidivist failure like Shanny actually had some people expressing sympathy for him. The fukking leash some of these shytty ass coaches get is mindboggling.

bro, im sitting here just :mindblown: at people taking shots solely at RG3. (not the clowns on this forum, but off the internet). Shanahan has created this clusterfukk. He the reason Tyler Polumbus is playing RT when he isnt an NFL player. He the reason this defense was consistently top 10 to consistently one of the worse in the NFL! ITS HIM *points finger* HIM!!!

I'm convinced that NFL coaches (with a few exceptions, of course) share the surgeon/lawyer/CEO characteristic of extreme sociopathy. These dudes are utter scumbags. Hire their children without merit, brun franchises to the ground, shyt on the owner/GM/players on the way out the door in order to look better for the next suitor. On the college level and in the pros, these ugly ass-faced motherfukkers perpetuate the slimiest shyt and somehow manage to convince the public that it's really whatever player they choose to scapegoat who is the ultimate villain. And it works. Over, and over, and over.

I thought this thread was gonna be about the potent ether dropped in this Hogs Haven article.

http://www.hogshaven.com/2013/12/9/5191564/must-read-mike-shanahans-brilliant-last-act-by-kc-clyburn

I took some parts out because the article a little long.

:banderas: :banderas: :banderas:
:to: what a great post

Mike Shanahan has got to be the biggest fraud in the NFL along with Jeff Fisher, two arrogant bytchmade scumbags who are the definition of retread failures.

Both have the old boy connections to continue getting hired until they kick the bucket.

fukk RAT FACE!

I hope Snyder fires him with cause and doesn't pay him one more cent.

That right side on offense is abysmal. That's been a problem for the team for a while now.

teams right sides are not supposed to be as good as the left. I get that. Polumbus is not NFL quality tho. When he gets cut, I dont think he will make any other team's active roster on opening day next season.

The interior line is terrible too. He wants small athletic types so he can zone block, but these brehs cannot pass block for shyt.

But that defense :why:
