You libertarians always get me with this one.

This is why chik-fil-a didn't experience a surge of "activist" consumers in their product after the CEO spoke out against gay marriage.

Also trust, a lot of white people wouldn't mind losing some money in order to maintain white supremacy and practice racism. If they could give up a year of their paycheck to see all black people exterminated, a surprising number of them would.

This nasty part of human nature, libertarians can never address in a satisfactory manner.

Unfortunately, as long as most of the power and numbers reside with a segment of the population that hopes to oppress another, government even though its not perfect is the best chance you got as a buffer against tyranny by the majority as a minority. Its an equalizer as far as power is concerned.

Personally, I just want to eventually get out of this country to get away from this problem once and for all.

I hope dude really isn't from the USA..

Nope...Im in a certain famous bastion of liberalism in the Midwest...Im well read,well travelled theres no "naivety" on my part

False....The majority of human beings are driven by self interest...I could care less if a business was owned by someone who looks like me if i dont think im getting full value...now if they offer the very same product THEN i can discriminate.

Libertarianism does address it..self interest...I admit ideologically pure Libertarianism may not be possible but neither is socialism,communism,capitalism...some things just cant be fully attained

The "power" you speak of rests neither with the minority or majority..it rests with a small shadowy group of wealthy well connected individuals..the only reason open gun in your face tyranny hasnt happened so far is because its not very productive and it carries alot of risk for us and them as they learned during the french revolution.

The "majority" does not want to oppress..they want to just live bruh..that is the natural state of man..if you were stranded on a deserted island you would have to work with whoever your stuck with or you all die...
When America was first colonized there were white and black indentured servants and slaves..and they realized their lives sucked so they rebelled against their rulers..the rulers realized they wouldn't be able to hang on to both so they created the Black slave codes and let the white servants go free.

Divide and conquer...the Elite's plantations stayed productive with the Black slaves working for free and the white underclass would act like lowly paid prison guards ,rounding up escaped slaves for a few coins and also as consumers of the plantations produce which cost nothing in labor ....
They were basically blindly helping to prop up a system that was enriching the slave owners beyond belief but they got very little from it

Then after the civil war the ruling elite realized that model was profitable but unsustainable due to the open brutality and violence involved ...so they fine tuned it came up with central banking and taxation in 1913.....now instead of chaining some people and taking everything they produce they let everyone produce whatever they want and take a little bit from everybody....and its been working really well for them only problem is they have to keep the masses distracted and off balance.

Personally, I just want to eventually get out of this country to get away from this problem once and for all.

Me too bruh..i eventually plan to expatriate.....lots of rising cities in Africa that i could take my talents to.
