A Lonzo/Rajon PG controversy is inevitable

Rondo comes back tomorrow, and likely starts. However, LeBron/Lonzo/Kyle/Josh have been getting into a nice rhythm during the past few games (including the loss against S.A.). They complement each other quite well.

Rondo is a great player, but he's not a great fit on this team, especially long term.

I could see a situation where Walton bites the bullet and benches Rondo, then Rondo goes into disgruntled mode (like he usually does), and ultimately gets traded....perhaps for a shooter they desperately need or a backup center.

Days back said the Rondo suspension will be a blessing in disguise because I felt that the offense runs better with Lonzo.

There is no controversy, Rondo is not likely to start. Lonzo has the starting spot locked up.

It’s more likely that Kuzma goes to the bench when Ingram come back.

One thing I love about this Laker team is the amount of players that can create their own offense for themselves and others. I think Bron is getting used to being set up for like he was in Miami. Zo has that 6th sense to find him.

That’s really the thing about it. Neither has considerably differentiated themselves because there’s not that much difference between the two. But logically Lonzo should start — younger, more invested in him, has a higher ceiling (we already know what Rondo is, Zo is still improving), a better defender at this point. If Ball was aggressive though there wouldn’t even be a discussion, he’d clearly be the better player.
