A Look at WWE's ratings decline beginning with 2001-Present Day (Kliq stans tryin to deflect LOL)

The business is where it's at because of MMA (specifically UFC), the WWE's inability to create new stars (some of which is, admittedly, Hunter's fault), cord cutting (minor issue, but worth mentioning), and the oversaturation of their product.

This is a topic worth discussing minus the horrendous bait.

It all has to do with the quality of the product, pure and simple.

Cord cutting and the rise of UFC has zero to do with the declining popularity of pro wrestling. It isn't popular because the show fuxkin sucks.

All of which has been discussed. All of which I mentioned, but those aren't the sole reasons. The only reason the Kliq are now in the title is because Kliq fans got mad at the facts. Like you're doing right now. Ratings were clearly up in '06 because of Cena and the ECW crossover and Edge etc.

Started tuning out in 2000. Completely checked out after the Invasion angle. I had 0 interest in the new stars and I think thats the biggest reason. I remember seeing the Cena spinner belt and thinking how far wrestling has fallen. Occasionally out of the blue I would catch a tiny bit of Raw and was always some lame boring guy like Orton on the screen and I didnt give a fukk. I remember hearing about Rey winning the belt and thinking how dumb that is ( I love Rey but how is he a heavyweight champion?). Things just werent the same as when I was watching as a kid.

Say word. Punk is a prime example of this company having something hot that was transcending the sport and making wrestling seem cool to people who bounced. He was the man that summer and they bungled it all because of ego. There was absolutely no reason for triple h to beat punk in that feud. And there was no reason for him to be beefing with trips to begin with. Or Kevin Nash but rather than just let the company get hot, they got in their feelings about people tuning in because this guy was basically saying the product was stale and boring and in need of rejuvenation. His popularity was an indictment on them and they took it personal

The WWE was so damn trash for this. Took one of the most naturally built things they had in years and flushed it down the toilet. Same thing with having Nexus make a public apology the very next week on Raw after that invasion

When you don’t have any comp you get to truly control who’s hot and who’s not. You don’t need to listen to the fans because it’s more about the brand
