You sure about that? :sas1:

Dont get cocky....
Its not that cocky, those scores guarantee admission to the top three law schools, Yale, Harvard and Stanford. BigLaw, government, and DC scholarships are given out to most of the students. If I stay within the top 1/2 of my class, a BigLaw firm will pick me up. They need more diversity, and Ivy diversity is as good as it gets. All I have to do is study, and not commit any felonies :sas2:

But you also have to look at who they work for to know where the power is at and who holds the puppet strings. Hospital administrators make BANK. :sas2:

You're severely overstating this and I just finished doing everything you did. Please don't let top law schools.com lie to you. It's not "most" as in any sort of guarantee. It's really about bidding well, and getting an offer. A lot of people took the only offer they received and most law firms don't care about diversity whatsoever. The few that do, you can tell from their sites and from visiting. Associates of color are judged the most harshly and tend to be the first ones cut. A study recently showed that your assignments are graded 50% worse if the partner is aware that you are black. Make no mistake, there is no "guarantee." Furthermore, your entire class is coming in with the same scores as you. One does not just assume they will be in the top half of the class. Everyone in your class has been the smartest person in the room their entire life. Do not take anything for granted. Law school at that level will make you smarter though, the whole reason I give 98% of the arguments on here even if I agree with them the :beli: is because my mind can no longer accept logical short cuts outside of shooting the shyt with friends. Literally makes my head hurt.

Because the 175-180 range is almost never reached by Black students male or female. Literally maybe 3 or 4 every year. I have a projected 174-176. There's actually a website that shows chances of getting in a school, by using precious year's data. I have a 3.6 - 174 and there is 0 data, and that includes Yale, Harvard, Stanford, NYU, UC, Cornell, Duke, Columbia and UCLA.
Its not like high school where you have a few hundred Black kids getting 35s and 36s on the ACT.

I personally think this has more to do with the dearth of study habits, perseverance and neurotic qualities in AAs than anything to do with any black individual's LSAT potential.

:stopitslime: you know you still secretly follow :whoa: on YouTube
I'm actually harder on Cenk because of his background. Wharton + Columbia Law JD = he knows better (and if you know my history, I only get disappointed with people I expect something from). He has that ability to make complicated things simple which is what a lawyer needs to be an effective communicator, but at some point around 2011 he just started making assumptions without supporting them. He may actually be right, but we can't state our suppositions as truth without giving the foundation. That's my issue with him, I expect more and he instead chooses to appeal to the natural liberal inclinations of his audience instead of making the well-rounded case to justify those stances. I stopped watching him when I saw him point out that the US government makes a profit off of student loans thus all the debate in Congress is just a facade and it's one big scheme to make money off of you without saying more than what I just typed to support himself. I used to look at him as the more plain spoken equivalent to Rachel Maddow.

I don't even blame him. All those talking heads know that they have our attention only but so long and they need to spark something before we change the channel. I've never really been mad at Cenk though, just how he dumbs down as he "reads in between the lines" for you. His conclusions are usually more right than wrong.

Honestly this is why I commend cats like @Napoleon and @OneManGang on this site, because I utterly don't have the energy, time, nor inclination to break down complex arguments into a simplistic form for the population at large.

And going back and forth :mjlol:

Yeah, I know. I looked at a few of the previous year's statistics, and unless there is a glut of high scoring URMs or James A Colescott decides to preside over all the admissions, I should get in. If HYS, then CCN or the rest of the Top 14. And I have a few connections. HP, P and LP make everything a lot less stressful. Jones Day here in Cleveland would give me a job even if I wasn't Top 1/2 of my class. I'm trying not to take anything for granted, but I have a few back-up plans if everything doesn't go as smoothly as possible.
