The Yay
A source told CSN Bay Area the 49ers' coaching staff is under the impression Vernon Davis might be away from the team for "awhile."

Davis skipped OTAs and was noncommittal late last week when asked if he'll show for June's minicamp. A source told beat writer Matt Maicco new TEs coach Eric Mangini "told his group of tight ends that this is an opportune time for them to make an impression because it might be awhile before Davis reports to the team." It's still to early to worry about a training camp holdout.

mangini is the new TEs coach doe ? :wtf:

true, but cant dwell on one game all the time man
since harbaugh is still the coach the turnovers should stay very low

I agree, but someone using that name is clearly just tryna clown for jokes and not actually analyze the guy.

And as the old saying goes, what have you done for me lately.

But on the real, fukk it, we gotta ride with the young man. We bought the farm, might as well milk the cows.

:leon: :leon: :leon: That does sound way better than I thought.

But again, I'm a moron when it comes to cap space stuff. Regardless of all the perks in the deal, how much flexibility are we gonna have in the next 2-3 years to sign or resign players?

this is an extremely team friendly deal and some of y'all will still complain :heh:

Yup. Folk get wrapped up in the total money which Kaep will never see.

He also has de-escalators worth up to $2 million in years 2-7, or 2015-2020. They can be voided in any year by taking 80% of the teams offensive snaps, and one of two things must happen, 1. The 49ers must appear in the super bowl, or 2. Kaepernick needs to make the 1st or 2nd team All-Pro NFL.

:krs:

All he has to do to hit the escalators is play 80% of the offensive snaps; If he doesn't then the All Pro/Superbowl stipulations come into play for him to get the $2 million escalator.
