Listen this is what it is. As was stated in this thread, for the most part Black people get along in this country but we're keeping it less than 100 by not fully examining this issue.
Everybody here is an adult so I expected more serious responses, but maybe that will come during the weekend when people have more free time.
Trace immigration patterns and read memoirs of the conflicts between the original immigrants from country/region A and the Blacks who already live in the cities they arrive to. Heck, there was tension between Northern born Blacks and their Southern fellow Americans during the great migration as thousands of Blacks moved up North escaping racism and poor economic prospects in the 20th century.
Anyway, before any migration or interaction takes places between AA,Cont. A, and WI...each group has pre conceived notions about the other group fed by media images...often American created or exported media images...ie Tarzan movies with backwards natives, Films ,books,tv shows with AA depicted as criminals, jungle/cannibal books/films/tv about WIs. American entertainment is it's number one export.
Anyway, Caribbean and African people are from where "Black" is the norm..not the minority. Race is the defining thing in America, in Black countries people are separated/segregated along class or ethnic lines or regional/religious lines. There are class,color, religious and regional differences between Blacks in America...but because of the history of racial segregation & the one drop rule, Blacks aren't as fragmented socially here as in Black countries.
People don't often immigrate for fun, but because conditions compel them to. So when they first arrive to USA, they are living in the poor Black sections of the country., their first interactions with Blacks here are with the ones in the struggle..and the immigrant assumes position in this society that is beneath what their position was back home. The Americans living in the poor areas are not there because they want to be. Neither of these people are happy campers.
Both groups have preconceived notions about the other and they do not mix socially. The foreigner is seen as "different".....weird accent,dress,etc added to the media fed stereotypes. The American is looked down for being at the bottom of society despite having been born and educated here...added to the media fed stereotypes. The American will see things that confirm their notions..and in the ghetto, the immigrant will definitely see things that confirm the notions.

Man, AAs never had issues with anyone. There were never any issues with Haitians in Florida, latinos in California, latinos in NY (UBN I see you), etc. I wish I could hear nikkas saying they never had issues with white people in the future.
