Honestly, I have only read two books on the topic and it's an incredibly confusing situation, at least with regards to approach it, and the arguments are endless. But, and surely you will agree, when approaching to topic, we should avoid casually explaining it ,I think that causes more harm than good. And honestly, that comment about Israel being soft on Palestine isn't going to help at all. I can empathize with what you have likely dealt with in argumentation but that isn't helping the public's perception of the situation. We need more nuance.

It might be assigned reading for anyone majoring in related fields but I think it the least biased and best introduction to the topic. Not sure if you have read it or what your thought on are. But I would ask that people at least read something before speaking on the topic, surely you would agree given how arguments surrounding the topic typically play out.
