Damn, i legit remember ordering his book off that long ass sheet of paper in elementary school and checked the box next to his name, and was amped when they bought the boxes of books to the classroom. I was one of the few blacks in the class, and it was one of the only books by a black author on the list. My moms encouraged me to get the book and i was in advanced classes so it wasn't a difficult read for me even back then.
