How do you know that? What if he held a gun to her head and said, "if you ever leave me, I'm gonna shoot you, and your entire family". And with someone who already abuses her, she'd probably take that threat seriously and stick with him to be safe. Plus, there's the psychological element involved. She's stuck by him for so long that that behavior becomes normal and "love" to her. It's a power thing.
