Yo...this is actually my first time listening to Macklemore and he's certified trash, regardless of the message...on the other hand...

Actually...
MURS, "ANIMAL STYLE" | from LOVE & ROCKETS VOL. 1 | produced by EMBASSY - YouTube

He's going to be credited for moving the culture forward and maturing hip hop beyond homophobia which is something that is needed IMO...I just don't want HIM to be the forerunner of some shyt that we should have been doing ourselves.

Murs killed this (as usual), everything in this video shyts on Macklemore's...

I think at some point brehs will have to understand that the gift and the curse of hip-hop blowing up is that everyone is rapping everywhere and about everything...if you can't accept that, too bad for you :yeshrug:

i ''get'' everything, i just think it' bullshyt. i fail to see how macklemore is ''locking out'' kendrick lamar

I think I kept it pretty simple :yeshrug:
Many people have and will continue to get into
Hip Hop and if the genre is seen as just ONE THING
they'll be reluctant to explore it past their initial introduction
to the music.

I was pretty damn explicit with what I meant, I even used
quotes from actual fans, quotes that are similar to the
thousands left on both videos.
Most generally follow this line of thinking "Hip Hop is terrible, but you're good".
As in "I like macklemore but I don't care for the rest".
It doesn't matter that Blu, Fashawn, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, and dozens
of other rappers aren't what they would assume them to be, because
they won't check them out anyways.

I think I'll just quote myself :

A lot of this is lost on the average Coli poster though.
They don't understand that there are millions of people who
completely despise Hip Hop and will join in on the bashing
of Jay-Z/Nas/Wu-Tang Clan and whoever else while championing the
artists they like.

:wtf:

:bustback::bustback::violent: >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> :wrist:

I don't fuuuck with Macklemore like that.

But that song is realer than any fake coke king/gangster image that Ross likes to portray.

Listen to the lyrics to that song, you mean to tell me that's not real?

Don't get me wrong, I still love me some hood shyt.

I just find it funny it takes a white boy to talk about something that's socially relevant and make a single of it

Funnily those non hiphop fans remind me of the ignorance of hiphop fans who only listen to hiphop & are amazed at kanye's 'creativity' & credit him re-inventing the wheel when he's just sharked trends from other genres. What you gonna do there's a lot of ignorant people out here, there's people who don't like nas & think Lil Wayne is the GOAT lyricists. :manny:

Macklemore is not Kendrick or J cole. Neither of them are dropping singles rapping about second hand clothes & gay rights. Yes he is different & no he is not locking them out.

:comeon:
You don't have to have the same singles
to fit into the same sub-genre of Hip Hop.
Macklemore, Kendrick and J. Cole are all alternative
Hip Hop artists and what separates them for the most part
is based on perception. Even then Murs did it beforehand and
has been a staple in the underground for over a decade and yet it's
Macklemore that's being pushed as progressive, different
and thus better.

I don't see how the non Hip-Hop fans would remind
you of Kanye west stans because Macklemore isn't fusing Hip Hop with
another genre, he's just making Hip Hop music.
And even then Kanye West doesn't "bite" different styles he
incorporates them into his genre.
What he's doing is no different than what artists do in other genre's.
Christian Scott for example is a jazz trumpter who's known to throw in Hip Hop and Rock while still keeping his music overall Jazz.
Metal bands like Meshugga have managed to incorporate Jazz into their sound while still keeping what makes metal music, metal music.

In Hip Hop you're pretty much encouraged to emulate those before
you so I'm not surprised that a lot of people are turned off by the
idea of introducing a new sound (or reintroducing it in Kanye's case).

As for people being ignorant, to be ignorant to something initially is what I expect, staying ignorant ON PURPOSE however.......
