it's easy to rally one demographic around a small set of ideas that have a lot of synergy. rallying every out-group in america into a dependable force is like herding cats. just because cacs are oppressing all of you doesnt mean you all get along

Yeah, the right have the free marketeer/libertarian guys and the gods, guns, and gays guys and whoever else, but they are generally of a very homogenous demographics. And they are bound by a common thread of traditional white American angst which helps as a unifying principle. The left is more of an amorphous mixed bag.
