I didn't start until 2000 . It used to be 3 types of weed up here Regs , Dro and Ganz which I think is just a Detroit thing but it was the highest quality
I started smoking late 90s in the shiny suit era 
shyt I had access to was straight trash. I used to buy a qp and pull seeds out for hours
Chronic was out there, but you had to have the plug as only a few locals would have it.

There was no such thing as loud at one point in history
It was all yard weed of varying quality
Mid grade came out first. That was about 2x the strength of reg. They didn't call it mid until
Dank came about. Which is about 2x stronger than mid
And that's where we are today. Dank = loud.
I don't know the year things began to change but lets say like 96 ish

Round my way had a whole weed drive through street. Any time of day there was always multiple nikkas standing out there waiting. nikkas would run up on your car trying to outprice/outsell each other

There’s so many avenues to get trees now. There aren’t even droughts anymore. I used to pump dimes and nicks on the block back in hs. Good times
Purple haze is my all time favorite. Such a clear smooth uplifting high. I remember smoking that and listening to supreme clientele when it first came out, beautiful period. The after high was incredible too.
Kind bud made me paranoid as hell. We also had dro, blueberry haze, various other hazes and white rhino which was super rare. The thing is people were just probably calling their bud something when it probably wasn’t.
That Brickweed was a staple since it was super cheap.
A 3.5 for some high grade was like $80. We used to split that cost.
my favorite bud from this era is strawberry sherbert. Haven’t indulged in a long time but if I did, it would have to be that.

we had the rotating houses. ask anyone "where the weed at?" and they'll tell you what neighborhood and street. "Second house on the left, go up to the window and knock."
Then that house would get busted and it would move to a new house. Only thing was back then you had to know what neighborhood you were going into cause of the gang shyt.
