I smoked weed in the late 90s in CT. The weed was definitely not as strong. "Kine bud" was like the best weed at the time, and it cost double or more. Went to college in OK in the early 2000s. fukking just terrible Mexican Brick Weed. Moved to NC for grad school after that, and the weed was amazing
Brick weed was universal. Everybody smoked that dark seedy shyt one point or another. I was in NC too smoking that brick weed, then nikkas put me onto Hydro, Purple Haze, Lambspread and every nikka wit that light green was calling shyt Zona.
In the mid to late 90’s 
All you could get was BC bud, purple haze, maybe some white widow or chocolate Thai. And that was if you really had a plug.
Early 2000 we started getting p’s of northern lights & AK-47. Most people were mostly smoking bullshyt like Arizona or seedy weed with some hairs on it.
Then by around 2002 the flood gates opened and people were bringing back variety from Vermont, Colorado and Cali.
At least that’s how I remember it.
