they are avoiding the truth that the legend of illmatic isnt true...like someone said, iww had more of an impact then illmatic...and so called 'hip hop heads' hated that album...that's funny though, cause that'll bring up a truth they really wanna avoid...which is: which album is better? lol....but i'm done...
No one is seeki g to avoid that question. Despite IWW being damn near perfect, Illmatic is still much better than it. IWW had more of a commercial impact. You don't stay at number one for four weeks off the "core" audience.

It seems like the only grounds you have left in defense of your argument are sales. And the sales argument has already been debunked by Art Barr who epitomizes the "old head" that you claimed to be seeki g knowledge from. You didn't respond to any of my points.

lol what?...you and art barr must've went to the same school of reading comprehension, cause not once in any of my posts did i mention sales when talking about the impact/influence of illmatic...as for seeking knowledge from him, get the fukk outta here that bullshyt...if he ever wanna chop it up/shoot the shyt, cool, but in regards to this, i'm not one of yall youngsters that gotta get my info second hand, i experienced it...

i responded to all your points, told/showed you how they were incorrect from first hand knowledge of the era, you just dont wanna believe what i and others are telling you...

but whatever, keep believing what you want , i'm done..

I should apologize. At some point, I started to think you were the OP, which is why I said the part about seeking knowledge.
Breh - I'm 33. I grew up in the Bay. Even though I was a thirteen year old kid at the time, far from NY, I knew Nas was a big deal. Just like when Ra dropped two years prior, or PR and CL, or Black Moon in 93.

Like I said, I'm 33. I bought IWW on cassette the day it released. So in not quite sure how what I wrote is an example of how I was young and not around? Cause I like Illmatic more than IWW?

Breh, you seem new around here, but @intilectual recipricol is the biggest troll on this site (one of the biggest?). I think he's in third place on the Worst Posters of the Booth thread. If he compliments you on trolling, that's like Michael Jordan admiring your jump shot.

Optimistic But I Got Hands Tho
Esco did not have mass appeal until the joint with Lauryn.

He definitely had the hip hop purist ear and the streets of the tri state area.

Nas was not a star after Illmatic. His impact had more to do with his peers and his skillset raising the bar as far as lyricism, content, and flow.

The Mecca of HipHop
Continue being trolled by Nas haters who have an agenda. I don't debate back n forth between them because that's what they're known for. Illmatic had an impact not sales wise but to many upcoming rappers for inspiring. Lupe being one yet those who try...yes try to tear down Nas for their own agenda is funny and sad. To debate that is idiotic.

No single reply is coming from me. /tru facts
