I don't think i've ever heard of a demographic supporting a party in such overwhelming numbers and getting so little in return.

But you're right. The Black community does not yield its power as a voting block effectively. I think that gerrymanding and all this "guarenteed representation" is part of the problem...we'd be better off if moderate dems/repubs were forced to woo significant numbers Black voters in their districts to win elections, than with all the Black votes being tied into a handful of Black legislators who basically just follow the party line anyway.

But another big part of it is exactly what chipdeez is saying. I mean, Black voters overwhelmingly supported Hillary in the primaries...why?
