Well outside of this guy saying it, I've never heard anyone say this, cause I don't really pay attention to the media but it was def wrong for this guy to bring it up especially when it comes to a basketball game. I'm sure Lebron does have some demons concerning not having a father figure in his life but to bring it up over b-ball is insensitive.Since the turn of the 20th century, there has been a huge movement to try to tie black familyhood into every existing problem exhibited by black person.
Now....failing at a basketball game warrants whites to tie it a player.
But this leads me to another question. Why is it that only black posters in here speak on this? Where's the white posters in here to call out their own for their BS like we often do a SAS, Jason Whitlock, or Wilbon on theirs?

My uncle coached High school/AAU ball and he said that shyt has an effect on player mentally.
He said that players without a dad lacked discipline and had a hard time taking orders from a man.He said if you raised your voice at them, they'd crack.They just seemed jittery and unsure of themselves
In all his years of coaching, he said the players who walked out and just quit on the team all came from single mother households.
Coaches discuss that shyt amongst one another.It's a bit of a red flag.They know they're going to have to put in a lil extra work.The mind is a fragile thing

Certainly not gonna make the at home link....but a common maneuver among a lot of guys I coached who knew they werent going to play other than maybe blowout minutes...they'd fake an injury and sit on the bench in street clothes. We'd literally have 6-7 guys on the bench with mysterious injuries in street gear.

If you want to have an actual conversation, feel free. But if you want to get on your tired big scary media/white boy routine...Im not going to bother.
Call it anecdotal all you want(about 17 players on the roster), but the kids who dressed for every game and we're the most coachable, now that I think about it did come from two family households. Their parents were also involved with the program and were positive influences. I met all of them.
No one's blaming the kids- but I dont think you can deny there's certainly a benefit of having a two parent home where both parents are involved with their kids.

But I'm going to state that this arm chair psychologist bs you're gravitating to lacks clear evidence, especially in light of how many coddled kids are coming out of homes where both parents are over worked and neglect their children outright. YOu want evidence? Site the fact that parents are spending MORE time working now than at home than ever before. So even your theory has holes in it.

We live in an age where kids are more neglected than ever, even with two parents yet you guys want to site this bs?
Most of these kids without a dad look up to the male figure that's coaching them rather than some adversary.
Yall dudes are just dumb.
Some do, some dont. That's part of the coaches job as well. We never discussed internally if potential recruits have both parents or whatever...but meeting them and having them involved with the program...beginning with meeting them on recruiting visit is part of the process of building a program.
Especially at smaller schools and for coaches who are looking to build.
