The point of marriage is two people choosing each other through thick and thin to build something together. The reason why marriage isn’t successful is not because it’s “an outdated concept” or some other new age bullshyt.

Marriage isn’t successful because people don’t even know themselves or love themselves let alone CHOOSING a suitable mate to spend their life with. People are selfish. It’s all about them and nobody wants to bend a little. Men and women aren’t taught from an early age on what it means to be a wife/husband and they typically don’t have great examples of it. They don’t have great examples on how to communicate and set boundaries with someone. How to have a constructive conversation without blaming their spouse but seeking to make it collaborative problem solving. All of their examples are from people who are lost like them.

It’s easier to say “GMB” than it is to self reflect, sit down and analyze why you’ve failed in securing a loving stable life time relationship. The women you’ve entertained (and for the ladies the men you’ve entertained). You can’t pour into others if your cup is half empty.

I still believe in marriage and I still believe that two people that focus themselves on God and each other, their union before God, is a powerful force. It’s very easy to look around and get discouraged because the world is burning but it’s nothing like coming home to a loving woman that is with you until the end. Good luck out there brehs and brehettes, keep pushing and I hope everyone ends up happy in the end.
