Exactly. Every day there would be a new thread of somebody posting this exact exchange with their 'boss':
Boss: "Two people called out. You need to come in today. Be in by 11:00."
Them: "I'm so sorry, but as I informed you yesterday, I am currently in the hospital on my deathbed with Covid, and I have to take care of my sick mother, who is in the hospital bed right next to me while the cancer and Alzheimer's slowly eats away at her body and mind."
Boss: "This is the second day in a row you weren't available to come in. You are aware that you need to be on call at all times during your off hours, correct? I am seriously questioning your commitment to this company. When you come back we are going to have a serious talk about your future here."
Them: "fukk you! It's not my responsibility to come in on my day off. I don't get paid enough for this shyt, and it's not my problem if you're short staffed. I'm not coming in, and if you don't like it you can go fukk yourself!"
It got to the point where other posters on the subreddit were calling this shyt out, like, "Just say you can't come in today and stop with the cap."
These bosses have no shame. Wanting people to work 7 days a week for years on end. Im glad that the great resignation is happening.
