Preposterous.
Not because Alex didn't juice. He probably did.
But you can't suspend a guy who never failed a test for an entire season.

And Bud Selig, that spineless coward, refused to testify in the hearings.

What a joke.
I'm a Yankees fan and this saves them a lot of money, but the process is all wrong.
The system is stupid . Harold Reynolds was bigging up how now if there's suspicion they MLb will go after you no need for a failed test , to me this type of stuff leads down slippery slopes . .. They ( mlbpa) need to fix this loophole next round of negotiations ,so that the commissioner can't have the discretion to put a higher penalty than is bargained for a player that fails a test applied to a player based off suspension . Right now if you have hgh in your. Locker you can get a season off as opposed to 50 games for failing a test

My Pops Forever RIP
Wouldn't arod have to agree with the buy out
he wouldn't accept less than $61 mil anyway, so the Yankees would just waive him, and then A-Rod gets blackballed.

I actually think the suspension is absurd given all the shadiness goin down, but in the interim, this is GREAT for the Yankees. They can go after Tanaka and get a stop gap for 3B that can get on base, and for them, unless Tanaka gets CC money, they'll be under $189.

I wanna feel bad for A-Rod, I really do, but he can't get out of his own way. Nevermind whether he's guilty or not, his name shouldn't even be around Biogenesis or linked to it. He's learning the hard way that there is not a single drug that can replace Kate Hudson when it comes to clutch hitting.

Through 41 home games this season, the Yankees have drawn nearly 106,000 fewer fans than at this point a year ago, a 6.1 percent drop.

There really are no good stop gaps at 3B in the league.

Anyone to fill in at this point -- if the Yankees could even get anyone -- would be a failed prospect, or an overpriced/aging veteran.

The desirable guys are either totally unavailable: Miguel Cabrera
Locked up: Evan Longoria, Ryan Zimmermann, David Wright
Or too young for any team to consider trading: Nolan Arenado, Brett Lawrie, Miguel Sano
