I grew up in the church, thought that black love was everything and was willing to do whatever it took to be loyal, faithful and the complete opposite of what women complained about.

I totally regret it. :snoop:

I live with my fiance and two daughters. I pay all the bills, she's staying at home since she just had a baby a few months ago. Yesterday, I woke up at 5:30 am, shoveled the snow, took out the trash, made my breakfast and prepared food for my older daughter.

Went to work. Put in a busy 9-5 shift at my corporate job.

Came home... didn't have a lot of food in the crib. Did wifey go to the supermarket? Nope. Of course not. I went. Bought groceries. Came home. Kitchen was a mess.

Washed the dishes. Cooked some food to go with the food I cooked the night before. Ate. Took out the trash. Shoveled again. Cleaned up.

Tried to get it in with wifey. She said she's still on her period (it's been 8 straight days) :comeon:

Spent time with my baby daughter. Changed her diaper and put her down.

Shower, come out and see wifey trying to get me to watch Married at First Sight and talk about it... because she's interested. Seriously. :what:

We haven't had sex in three months. :beli:

#GMB for life :wow:

She goes to sleep. I'm just watching ebonyhead Pornhub videos and NBA highlights.

Why am I saying all this?

I'm miserable. This get married shyt is for the birds. It's nothing but hard work, commitment, discipline, sacrifice and communicating a bunch of shyt you shouldn't have to. Did I mention we have a counseling session coming up? :mjcry:

For all the single brehs out there... do not be like me.

fukk what they say and how they cryin about shyt. Y'all are ahead of your time. Travel, see the world, eat exotic foods, have positive arrangements with women that get your lifestyle and make money brehs.

Unless you find a consistent, hard working woman who takes initiative to work hard for you and put effort into YOU... don't EVER commit.

I read this and was gonna call you a simp.

But I kept reading.

Then I was gonna ask why don't you just start cheating. I would have.

But I kept reading.

I'm gonna be honest and suggest you go to couple's counseling. See if things turn around.

If not, you know what time it is :yeshrug:

Otherwise, you're gonna be watching Married At First Sight and crying while jacking off to the hoes on there later while your wife sleeps :ehh:

Matter of fact Amanda know what she doin. She ain’t dumb.

She’s pre-emptively putting out these little bullshyt potshots at black men so that when she inevitably pops up with a white man ala Serena she has a built in narrative she can fall back on....

I can just SEE it now

“Bu bu but... I WANTED a black man! I got love for my brothas, Black men just don’t want to commit! NONE of these black men out here want a wife and family! Every single one of them wanna go to the club, smoke weed, and be fukk buddies! I couldn’t allow my physical chakra to be continually drained in such a manner. So I went on retreat in the Caucus mountains and my earth bound spirit animal spoke to me and told me it was time to ditch Jamal and find me a Jason:damn:

“My debut novel ‘Black Men Are The White Men Of The Black Community: Just With Worse Credit!’ Will be in stores this Sunday! It has already been given a 4 star review from The New York Times which called it “Bold, Edgy, Witty, and Uncomfortably Closer to truth than fiction”. It is a fictional account of my life, times, and trials trying to find love and acceptance in the black community. As a light skinned woman of color, my struggle and pain has been continually deafened and buried by the very race of men I once fiercely championed. It is a story of the fall. The rise. And the redeemed. It is the story of every black woman living in America. It is my truth. Special thanks goes out to my Husband Jason Jacobs, who supported me through everything. We playing Mammy Betty and Master Charles tonight boo!”

“ I am very happy to announce my new talk show, Amazing Amanda, has been picked up by the new Viacom streaming service! Debuting next year, Amazing Amanda will be a show geared towards black women in America who need a voice to champion their struggles! We will discuss Toxic Black Masculinity, the dangers of Raising black babies in a traditional patriarchy where the black man’s word goes unchallenged, and why Michelle Obama would have made a better President than Both Barack and Bill Clinton (still love you boo!) combined! Its a little Oprah! A little Dr Phil! And a WHOLE LOT OF ATTITUDE!

It's also important to understand that these trends are not just affecting black people. Bwenches (like other WS) will often try to pin the blame for these trends on black men, when what we as a culture are experiencing is sometimes just part of general trends affecting all working class people.

(Another clear example being that women are becoming more college-educated than men across the board -- yet that's often used to bash black men.)

There's the old saying: "When white americans catch a cold, black americans catch the flu."

A video from the American Enterprise Institute:

That being said, I'm glad state-sanctioned marriage is going extinct. It's a "sign of life" among black men -- no longer going for the okey-doke.

This video doesn't really support your stance. It moreso shows how being anti-marriage and anti-family leads to broke folks having no foundation in life.

While folks with education and higher incomes still push for marriage and the foundation of family. Something the black community desperately needs more of

The low rate of black marriages tell you what you need to know about black men and committing.
:whoo:
Debunked NPR Choice page

The numbers go like this: Very few single black women — just a quarter of those surveyed — said they were looking for long-term relationships, or LTRs. But on the flip side, nearly 43 percent of single black men said they're looking for a long-term partner.

Further context

McDonald and the other women in the group say that they interpreted the term "long-term relationship" as meaning a prelude to marriage.

"I think that a lot of men think that they want to get married," she says. "Men see it as a sense of accomplishment. 'Once I get married, I can check something off the list in the things I want to accomplish in my life.' "

But why are so few women looking? McDonald says a lot of her girlfriends were raised by single moms; marriage wasn't modeled in their homes, and today it seems unlikely.

Marriage is the ultimate arrangement for stabilizing your finances. You think it’s a coincidence the group with lowest marriage rates are also the poorest?

Would you spend 60 grand on a car (marriage) that has a 50 percent chance of breaking down (divorce) and knowing that court has the option of throwing out your warranty(prenup)?

So true...the racial wealth gap is clearly linked to our marriage rates and mass incarceration, among other layers
