But wtf was they supposed to do with the all the sidelined plots actors. George be tripping. His stuff is great but TV works a different way and that's why they have to change some of his plots, like House of the Dragon they had to step on the package because of the strike and he made a whole stink Again, and want to hear something funny he is going to do it again when they eventually do it for season 2 of A Knight of the 7 Kingdoms , if you think about it it's a great novella but it's mostly flashbacks explaining the BlackFire rebellions Battle the Red Grass Field. They gonna have to work in Dunk and Egg's trip to Dorne , and I think they Mentioned that they visited Maester Aemon at the Citadel or wherever he was at during that trip. Also On the Aegon's conquest Show there is a Whole mystery about what Happened to His Wife Rhaenys in Dorne and the Letter that they Brought to him. Watch George bytch about that too. Why leave stuff open and ambiguous to later complain.

Here's the thing for GRRM, if he really wants to continue to extend the Game of the Throne properties/series, releasing TWOW would create a huge amount of buzz and goodwill. Imagine the excitement around there being an official release date.

I thought Martin figured that out with Dance, which released the same year the first season of GoT debuted. He was on the top of the world through the premier of S1 all the way into the promotion for S2 the following year. He read a Winds chapter (Victarion) during one of those live events before S2 premiered. At the time I figured he could get Winds out in 4-5 years, which would coincide with the show reaching Dance material. Instead...in hindsight it really feels like he decided to focus on setting up post-GoT shows at that time. That's when we started doing the various novellas, Fire & Blood, the world book, etc. He knew whatever he wrote would be optioned by HBO, at least.
